Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) – Half Day Awareness

This introductory course is a great introduction to Mental health and provides an awareness of issues and how you may be able to start a supportive conversation. By raising awareness delegates will feel more able to challenge and reduce stigma and discrimination that mental health can bring. You will be certified as Mental Health Aware and many people then go on to complete the full two day course to become a Mental Health First Aider.

Sleep Hygiene

Our new sleep training course can be offered as a 1hr session for young people or a revised version at 20mins for a stand-alone assembly to use in schools. We offer a range of helpful sleep hygiene techniques whilst exploring what we can change to improve our sleeping habits. We explore why sleep is so important and why we need to sleep to be able to function day to day.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis, it will not teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis. Adult MHFA England courses are for everyone aged 16 upwards and is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health. Learning takes place through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions.

Knife Crime Awareness

This is a 5 week course that covers knife crime and the ripple affect as well as how mental health ties in with the actions you make around it. We explore one particular case study and look at the over arching impact of what impact someone’s actions can have on someone else’s life.

Drug Awareness

This a new session for staff and pupils, (versions vary depending on the cohort of people) we look at the impact of taking drugs on family friends and the community as well as the harm it causes as a result. We look into some statistics around drugs as well as exploring what county lines is.

This is a 4 week course where the four topics covered can be chosen from a menu including social resilience, conflict management, gangs and county lines, mental health, racism, sex consent, stress and wellbeing, social media, study skills, knife crime, drug awareness and sleep hygiene.
